Childish Whim

Late last year, my sister and I started fancying several actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. (Though "fancying" should be substituted with "crushing hard". Probably.) Particularly, Chris Evans as Captain America and Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, among the other amazing actors and actresses in the films, captured our hearts in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. (It should be noted, though, that Evans had my heart when he starred as Jake Jensen in The Losers years ago.) In other words, we became passionate fangirls of the humongous MCU fandom. (Alas, my endless list of fandoms!)

Turning legal

They say that when a girl turns 18, her parents would dress her up in the most beautiful of dresses and throw her a party, with all their adult friends invited, as their daughter's debut to adulthood. It is when the parents present to the whole world that their daughter has reached the ripe old legal age, has blossomed into a supposed lady and is high time for her to choose a mate.

Hold up. Does that mean when I turn 18, I need to get married ASAP? I don't even have a boyfriend yet. Can't I just learn to drive and get my license first?

Polarity

This is really a super-duper late article that I shouldn't even be trying to finish because (1) the event took place weeks ago, (2) I still have homework and lots of them, and (3) remembering the night gives me the feels-- that falling sensation in the pit of your stomach, the instant increase of your heart beat rate, and the smile that doesn't leave your face until you realize that it's there. So here we go!

Nobody told me that a night with chemistry majors would be fun. It was a Friday night, September 14 to be exact, when our batch of applicants hosted a party called Polarity. It was a dinner party with a talent show featuring Inversion, our official batch name as this semester's applicants for the UP Association of Chemistry Majors and Enthusiasts (UPACME), and lots of fun games, which I organized. (Proud program committee right here!) It was a Noir-inspired night of mystery and madness and fun-- more on the happy-crazy-parteh side of madness, not the dark Imma-kill-you-and-torture-you-and-possibly-kill-you-even-more-when-I-feel-like-it. (Where did that come from?) Must be because of the three words: polarity, noir and inversion. Get it? Get it?

Kiddie-Party-themed Acquaintance Party

Last night, I attended the kiddie-party-themed acquaintance party of our corridor.

Yes, it is already the second semester. Yes, it is a little too late to "get to know" each other in our floor. But, surprisingly, there were people that I only met as a co-corridor last night. It was both weird and satisfying. Weird because we have been passing by each other without eye contact and never knowing what we have in common. Satisfying because I met new people and not just new faces. At least I am now sure that I am in the midst of more awesome people, right? As I always say, better late than never.

First floor girls kids again for the night.

Happy Halloween!

I still have my plate full of unfulfilled activities I wanted to do this semestral break. Unfortunately, I will be flying back to Manila tomorrow so everything will be put on hold until Christmas or-- even worse-- summer. But for now, as long as I am with my family for the next [less than] 24 hours, I am happy.

So here's what I have been up to for past ten days.

Last Monday, I celebrated my birthday, of course! It was an "exclusive" party. I only had my family and relatives come. I didn't throw a big birthday bash because I only turned seventeen.
I made a wish and blew the candle. My cake was a yummy Sans rival from Goldilocks.

Post-Birthday

Does it really take two days to rest after an exhausting half-day meeting with best friends?

Yes, it does. My body is still so tired but my mind keeps on bugging me to write about Saturday's events. It's as if my mind would explode if another minute flies off without a word said about it. And body aches and pains do not really matter because I enjoyed every minute that Met-Met, Diana and I were together last Saturday. (Though I really wish I can get another day without classes so I can just tuck myself into bed.)

As a post-celebration for my two best friends' birthdays, we invited our high school classmates and new college friends to meet and eat in SM Megamall last week. All of them RSVP-ed they could not make it and it made me feel bad. We have prepared ourselves, and our wallets, to accommodate several people in a special restaurant only to be put down. On the bright side, we were so lucky that we did not have to spend more to treat other people. We are only obliged to treat ourselves. Now that's what I call a good time.

Welcome, August

August is a month of celebrations and I can't wait to par-teh!

My best friends and I have been planning to celebrate a triple birthday bash for ourselves. I have not planned anything yet, but I think they already have everything ironed out. One of my best friends is so excited that she's counting down the days to when we will meet. I can't wait to see them again, after almost five months.

Also, I, with my high school classmates, celebrated my high school classmate's birthday today (redundant, no?) in KFC in Katipunan. Afterwards, we went in and around Ateneo de Manila University, thanks to our former schoolmates who are now studying there.

Photo ops after eating at KFC.

Kid's party

After posting Parties on May 1, I was able to get the pictures of the parties from my aunt's cam. And now, after agonizing without Internet connection, I post a few pictures of the celebrations on the first of May. Enjoy!
My brother Jommel with his meal with lots of sweets!

Parties on May 1

Today is May 1. Many people just celebrated their birthday today. I was both lucky and unlucky to be invited to two kid's birthday parties. I was lucky because I got to have free meals twice, enjoy the company of kids as young as two years old and bring home lots of food! On the other hand, I was unlucky, and so I exaggerate, because I was not able to work on my yearbook assignment and I got so tired it really felt like a long day!

Anyway, let me talk about the parties.
